Childhood companionship, love warms June 1st - A parent-child charity event lights up the festival starlight for children with special needs

To celebrate Children's Day and provide warmth and care to children with special needs, Chongzhi Special Needs Children's Early Intervention Center, under the guidance of the Chongchuan District Disabled Persons' Federation, collaborated with Nantong Deli Purification Equipment Co., Ltd. to hold a "Children's Day with Love" parent-child charity event for children with special needs at the Boai Home social organization incubation base in Chengdong Street. Zhang Tian, deputy director of the Chongchuan District Disabled Persons' Federation, and Liu Xiaoxia, director of the rehabilitation department, were present to guide the event, bringing a joyful and heartwarming festive experience to children with special needs and their families.

Nantong Deli Purification Equipment Co., Ltd. As a sponsor of this event, they actively practiced social responsibility, providing financial support and demonstrating their care for children with special needs through concrete actions.

PART.01

At the beginning of the event, participating families checked in in an orderly manner, and staff members carefully placed name tags on the children, preparing for the activities. A psychologist conducted one-on-one in-depth interviews with the families present. During the interviews, the psychologist listened patiently and kindly as parents described their children's daily lives, rehabilitation progress, and the practical difficulties they encountered in raising their children. Some parents expressed their concerns about their children's emotional expression and behavioral norms, such as their children's irritability due to unmet needs, or their difficulty adapting to new environments and rules; other parents shared their children's progress and heartwarming moments during the intervention process.

The psychologist not only carefully recorded the problems raised by the parents but also analyzed them from a professional perspective, providing parents with preliminary coping strategies and suggestions based on the principles of child psychological development. At the same time, the psychologist also thoroughly understood the families' needs for social support, including their expectations for rehabilitation resources, social activities, and psychological counseling, in order to develop more practical support plans for families of children with special needs. These detailed exchanges made parents feel cared for and understood, laying a solid foundation for subsequent activities and targeted guidance.

PART.02

This event carefully designed a variety of parent-child interactive games, including three sessions: parent-child painting, parent-child ball-carrying, and parent-child ring toss. Parent-child painting: Parents and children worked together, using their boundless imaginations to draw patterns and apply colors on tote bags, creating unique and creative works. The colorful paintings not only showcased the children's imagination but also enhanced the intimacy and emotional exchange between parents and children. The painting game aimed to provide children with special needs an outlet for emotional expression, allowing them to release their inner emotions through colors and lines, while also exercising their imagination and concentration; for parents, it allowed them to further understand their children's inner world through their artwork, enhancing emotional resonance between parent and child.

Parent-child ball-carrying: The psychologist carefully explained the rules and demonstrated them. Two groups of families started simultaneously, everyone focused intently, and under the constant protection of the staff, parents and children cooperated closely to reach the finish line. This game exercised the coordination between parents and children and the children's physical control abilities. For children with special needs, it strengthened their awareness and execution of rules, improving their physical coordination and balance; for parents, it allowed them to better understand their children's physical abilities and further enhance trust and cooperation between parent and child.

Parent-child ring toss: Families participated in groups, with three rounds of fun competition. Each family won prizes and took commemorative photos, and every child experienced the joy of the game. This game aimed to help children with special needs experience success or cope with minor setbacks through simple operations, enhancing parent-child collaboration. For children, successfully tossing the rings enhanced their self-efficacy, and encouragement when they didn't succeed reduced their frustration; at the same time, the ring toss process could cultivate attention and hand-eye coordination, and adapt to social situations. For parents, it enhanced the parent-child bond and relieved the psychological pressure of long-term care.

PART.03

At the end of the event, the staff neatly arranged the carefully prepared gifts in the gift distribution area and invited all the children to collect them in an orderly manner. The children held their gifts, their faces beaming with pure and radiant smiles. Finally, all participants took a commemorative photo in front of the event backdrop, capturing this beautiful and unforgettable moment.

This event, through rich parent-child interactions, not only brought festive joy to children with special needs and their families, enhancing emotional exchanges between parents and children, but also allowed them to feel the love and warmth of society. We would like to express our special thanks to Nantong Deli Purification Equipment Co., Ltd. for their strong support. We will continue to carry out such charitable activities, bringing together more social forces to send warmth and hope to children with special needs, helping them embrace a better life.
